About the role

Fresh Coat Painters is hiring an Apprentice Painter / Painter Helper to join our team in the Taylorsville / Salt Lake Valley area. This role starts part-time (20–25 hours/week) and is designed to grow into a full-time position after ~6 months for the right person.

We focus on careful prep, clean lines, and no mess left behind—and we’ll train you to do the work the right way.

Pay & growth

• $18/hour starting
• Raises at 30/90 days based on attendance, coachability, and quality
• Additional pay increases as you hit skill milestones (prep, patching, cut-ins, rolling, sprayer basics)
• Conversion opportunity: after ~6 months, strong performers may move into full-time hours based on performance, workload, and your availability.

Hours & schedule

• Part-time: typically 20–25 hours/week
• Mostly weekday daytime (some Saturdays as needed)

What you’ll do

• Protect customer spaces (floors, furniture, landscaping)
• Prep surfaces (scrape, sand, patch, caulk)
• Mask/tape and set up clean work areas
• Roll walls/ceilings and assist with trim work
• Learn cut-ins and finishing techniques
• Clean up daily and leave sites spotless
• Load/unload tools and materials

What we’re looking for

• No experience required (painting experience is a plus)
• Reliable and on-time—every shift
• Comfortable working on ladders and standing for long periods
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Respectful in customers’ homes and around businesses
