Fresh Coat Painters of New Orleans


The principal function is to complete the painting scope of work in accordance with production standards established by the Painting Contractors of America (PCA) and the Fresh Coat Painting Company.


Specific List of Responsibilities:

  • Always maintain the company standard, while working as a team player and supporter of fellow painters and the operations manager.

Planning and Staging:

  • Arrive at the job site at the precise start time and report to the operations manager for work specific goals and instructions.
  • Respect customer boundaries and space.
  • Assist in setting up a neat and organized area for our equipment, tools, and paint.
  • Know your production goal for the day and monitor progress to ensure that goal is met or exceeded.
  • Pre-plan for the next day.


Protection and Preparation: 

  • Use plastic, drop cloths, and tape to protect the surfaces of the home or project that is not to be painted.
  • Ensure expert preparation by sanding, scraping, and priming as appropriate to ensure proper adhesion.


Application of Coatings:

  • Completely cover painted surfaces to provide a smooth, opaque surface of uniform finish, color, appearance, and coverage.
  • Take steps to avoid cloudiness, spotting, holidays, laps, brush marks, runs, sags, ropiness, or other surface imperfections.


Communication and Cleanup:

  • Organize the worksite to minimally disturb client’s home or commercial workspace.
  • Listen to and address any client concerns promptly and thoroughly.
  • At the end of each workday, remove empty cans, rags, rubbish, and other discarded paint materials from the site.
  • Upon job completion, clean glass and paint-spattered surfaces. Remove spattered paint by washing and scraping. Be careful not to scratch or damage adjacent finished surfaces.

Basic Personal Responsibilities:

  • Maintain professional appearance: Hair combed, clean & neat, and wearing clean painter whites with no more that 10 percent of fabric covered in paint.
  • Be on time for all jobs.

  • MUST have basic tools, equipment, safety gear 
  • Resident in the Greater New Orleans area (preferred)
